Calling for an appointment

When  you call us for an appointment you will be given a series of options:

Haydon Bridge:

Routine appointments

Routine appointments can be pre-booked with the doctor of your choice up to 6 weeks in advance. These are for non-urgent matters and for patients who prefer to have continuity by seeing the doctor who has been looking after an on-going problem.

Appointments are usually around 10 minutes long. If you think you will need to see a member of medical staff for longer than this please mention this when you request an appointment.

Please tell us as soon as possible if you are unable to make an appointment, so that we have the opportunity to offer it to someone else.

Urgent appointment

Every day there are a number of book-on-day appointments if you need an opinion on a  problem that cannot wait for a routine appointment. If you require an urgent appointment, a GP will call you back to discuss your symptoms. They will then either make you an appointment to be seen or if appropriate, give you advice over the phone.

Weekend and evening appointments

Weekend and evening appointments are available, click here for further information.
